Since 1905, VWMS has been dedicated to the advancement of music in the cultural, social and educational life of Vancouver and British Columbia. To learn more about our history, visit A Century of Music. Monthly concerts feature outstanding young musicians who have established, or are working towards, a career in music. Each of the performers has earned either a Scholarship or Bursary from the Society. These Wednesday mornings of music, open to the public as well as to our members, are an incredible experience for audience and performer alike. VWMS offers the best value in classical music available anywhere! Easily accessed, our concerts are held at the Unitarian Church (corner of 49th & Oak) with ample parking and excellent public transportation service. After the concert, please join us in the church annex for refreshments and a chance to meet the featured artist. In addition to our Main Series concerts, VWMS presents a very special event each Spring. Held in a lovely public setting, past occasions have included an "Italian Night," "Musical Delights and Afternoon Tea at Hycroft," and "An Elegant Evening of Song" at the Koerner Recital Hall, each offering delectable nibbles and memorable music. For information on this year's event, check our Special Events page. The VWMS 2011 Scholarship Competition in Piano will invite local artists to showcase their best work. Imagine an entire day of exceptional musicianship. We hope that, this year, you can be in the audience, too! Why wait? Become a Member today! VWMS 2010-2011 Executive
