Our Awards Programs
From its inception in 1905, VWMS and its members have enjoyed the rewarding privilege of helping to advance the career objectives of a great number of talented young classical musicians through our Scholarships and Bursaries program.
Our annual Scholarship Competition is held on a three-year cycle that rotates between voice, piano and orchestral instruments. The VWMS Bursary Competition is open each year to students who perform in any classical music discipline.
Over the years, the Society has awarded more than $200,000 in Scholarships and Bursaries. Many of our winners remain active in their musical careers today, performing, teaching, and sharing the experience of music with those close to them as well as with communities and audiences around the world. Check our Past Winners page for comments from just a few recipients of past VWMS awards.
If you would like to be considered for a VWMS Scholarship or Bursary, please go to our
Applications page for details and downloadable forms.
Donations to VWMS or to our Scholarship and Bursary funds are tax deductible and always most appreciated. Please
contact us for more information. Your generosity will go a long way towards helping some talented young artists to further their music careers.
